About us

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) is an agency under the Danish Ministry of Immigration and Integration.

We process applications for residence and work permits for third-country (non-EU/EEA) citizens who wish to reside in Denmark in order to work or study. We ensure easy access to Denmark for EU/EEA citizens. In doing so, we help enable companies and educational institutions in Denmark to recruit qualified employees and students.

We advise and support Danish municipalities and NGOs in receiving and integrating foreign nationals into Danish society and preventing honour-related conflicts. In addition, we develop study materials and tests in Danish language proficiency and knowledge about Denmark.

Residing, working, and studying in Denmark

We issue residence documents to EU/EEA citizens and process applications for residence and work permits from third-country citizens.

A third-country citizen is a citizen of a country outside the Nordic countries, the EU/EEA and Switzerland. Third-country citizens who wish to reside in Denmark, Greenland or the Faroe Islands must have a valid residence permit of the correct type.

Please note that applications for permanent residence permits and residence permits on the grounds of asylum or family reunification are processed by the Danish Immigration Service.
